Bouillon is without doubt the most important and most attractive tourist centre of the Semois valley.
Its fortified castle, perfectly preserved, continues to watch over the Semois,
which surrounds it. Miles of sign-posted paths invite the visitor to discover the surrounding hills.
Two Panoramas of "Belvédère" and "Ramonette" to be discovered. Guided walks in English
can be booked at the Tourist Office.
The oldest and most interesting feudal vestiges in Belgium.
The castle's origins go back to the 8th century. It was certainly in existence
in 988. The castle was immortalised by Godefroid, leader of the first Crusade
(1096). |
