The Land of Arlon includes Martelange, Attert, Messancy and Aubange.
This border region, at yesterday's Roman - today's European - crossroads has retained
its vocation as a land of cultural and commercial exchange.
Arlon was a Celtic town, colonised and enriched by the Romans.
It was fortified during the 3rd century and is one of the oldest towns of Belgium and also
the administrative capital of the province. It houses the largest collection of Gallo-Roman sculptures
in Belgium and is rich in medieval vestiges, historical and architectural heritage.
Arlon also has one of the oldest synagogue of Europe.
The Nature Park of the Valley of the Attert regroups 17 villages and hamlets.
At an average altitude of 1000 ft, it borders the Forest of Anlier and is a paradise for hikers and cyclists.
One of these villages is Nobressart, and is one of the "Most beautiful villages of Wallonia".
